The Chorleywood Gunners
under 11's are the first age group to compete in the West Herts New 9 a
side league.
New rules from the FA are being introduced for 2014
which will mean club teams will move from playing 7 a side to
9 a side and then on to 11 a side when they reach 13.
Previously
CCYFC
have asked children to move from playing 7 a side football
on small sided pitches to 11 a side on
adult pitches (remember watching
KES when he had to go in
goal!).
However Chorleywood have gone one step further and decided
with other clubs in the West Herts area to instigate
this process now rather than wait for 2014.
Encouraging children
to have more time on the ball and encourage more skilful play will lead
to greater retention
of the children and enjoyment of the game.
